What Is the First Accessory That Could Improve the CPR Training I Provide to My Students?

One of the accessories every instructor should have in their kit is a set of lung bags and/or face shields. With these tools, instructors can make CPR training a lot more realistic. They can also use them to make training more hygienic.

A lung bag can be inserted inside a training manikin. When the lung bag is inserted, the lung bag will start to increase in size when mouth-to-mouth is applied; this creates a realistic fall of the chest during CPR training. When a student has finished his or her practice, the lung bag can be replaced by a new one.

What Is the Second Accessory That Could Improve the CPR Training I Provide to My Students?

To insert and remove lung bags easily from your training manikin, it is recommended to obtain one of the insertion tools from Mentone Educational. Insertion tools are simple to use and can easily be maintained. Still, we recommend obtaining several, especially if you have multiple training manikins for larger CPR classes.

We also recommend that CPR instructors obtain additional trainers that can be combined with your training manikins. One such a trainer is the AED trainer, which trains emergency responders in automated external defibrillation.

An automated external defibrillator can bring lifesaving shocks to someone who has suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. It can save someone’s life while waiting for first responders, so many CPR instructors will now incorporate a trainer like this in their regular CPR training.
