The Prestan adult range is the most economical and durable manikin on the market which provides both an audio and visual feedback. The Prestan adult provides feedback in the form of a cliker for correct compression depth and LED lights for compression speed.

The LED lights provide feedback according to the following pattern:

• RED - Compressions of less than 60 per minute
• Orange - Compressions 60-79
• Green (single light) - Compressions of 80-100
• Green (doube light) - Users have compression in the 100-120 per minute which is the optimal level 

The Prestan range now includes feedback which of a yellow light in between the two green lights to indicate that the user is exceeding the 120 compresisons per minute and they should slow down compression rate

The 4 pack includes the following components:

• 4 Prestan Manikins
• Nylon Carrying Case
• Instruction Manual

The range of manikins are available in a single pack, 4 pack and also part of all Mentone Educational's starter packs.

AA batteries are required to run the LED lights on each manikin (not included).

What Is The Latest Upgrade On Prestan CPR Manikins?

New Prestan manikins come with the so-called BLUE CPR Rate Monitor. The monitor provides the same feedback as received from Prestan manikins in the past, with one exception! When the student exceeds 120 compressions a minute, the light system will display two green lights and a yellow light, prompting the student to slow down.

Since this requires less input from the instructor, it certainly has some benefits for instructors who teach larger classes too!

Where Are The Lights From The New BLUE CPR Rate Monitor On The Latest Prestan Manikins?

The light system can still be found in the original location, comparable to older models from the Prestan brand. For adult and child manikins, the lights are situated on the right shoulder. However, if you are using an infant manikin, the lights are situated on the diaper of the manikin.

Do I Need To Install The BLUE CPR Rate Monitor?

The latest Prestan manikins come with the BLUE CPR Rate Monitor installed; this means instructors do not have to mess around with complicated installations or the like. The system’s feedback is based on the 2015 AHA guidelines.

Can I Upgrade My Current CPR Training Manikin With The New BLUE System?

Do you already have a Prestan training manikin with a light feedback system, but missing the special feature that comes with the new BLUE CPR Rate Monitor? No need to worry, because this new monitor can be installed in older CPR manikins from Prestan. Of course, please make sure your manikin does come with a light system to ensure compatibility. If you are unsure, you can always contact the Mentone Educational team for more information.

To upgrade your existing system (more often than not the beige unit), please contact your Prestan distributor; in this case, Mentone Educational. Through Mentone Educational, you can determine if your manikin will be compatible with the new system.

Who Should By A Multipack Containing These New Prestan Adult Manikins?

At Mentone Educational, we often recommend multipacks for instructors who teach larger classes; this may include schools and workplaces. For larger classes, it is difficult to let each student practice a sufficient amount of time on a single manikin. Therefore, having several manikins to practice on surely proves useful.

How Should I Transport And Store These New Prestan Manikins?

Proper storage and transport of the Prestan Adult Manikins can increase their lifespan considerably. When you shop at Mentone Educational and obtain this multipack, you will automatically receive the accompanying carry bag, which will keep your manikins safe during transport.

Before storage, we also recommend keeping your manikins maintained. Clean the surface with a gentle water and soap mixture but be careful not to use too much liquid. Once the manikin is cleaned, you can store it in the carry bag and put it away. However, make sure the carry bag is stored in a cool and dry place.

What is the purpose of the black felt dots that come with the manikin?

The felt dots are backed with adhesive and may be applied to the four corners of the manikin’s underside. This will help to prevent the manikin from sliding when administering CPR on a smooth floor surface.

The CPR Rate Monitor lights on my adult manikin are not working properly.

There are a few things to check when your monitor lights are malfunctioning:
   1. Make sure you are compressing fully, you should hear the clicker when fully compressed.
   2. Replace batteries and recheck. Two AA batteries are installed in the battery compartment behind the left shoulder of the manikin.
   3. The clicker, which drives the monitor lights, may be malfunctioning. Contact your distributor or Prestan for a replacement clicker.

How do you replace the batteries?

The compartment for the batteries is on the upper left side of the back of the manikin. Once the batteries are replaced, the lid is easily re-inserted by lining up the two tabs on the top of the compartment and pushing the lid into place.
